Spices! naturally essential, essentially natural!

What is spice? How does it differ from a herb? The thesaurus described the term spice as – “a seed, fruit, root, bark, or other plant substance primarily used for colouring, flavouring, or preserving food.” Spices are distinguished from herbs, which are the leaves, flowers, or stems of plants used for flavouring or are used as a garnish.
Spices are an essential component of human life. Seeds, roots, fruit barks, and other parts of a plant or tree are used as seasoning. Practically no Indian cuisine is complete without a dash of spices - Curries, sidedishes, salads even juices use spices to 'spice it up' for the lipsmacking taste.
Many spices have several properties ranging from antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antiviral. hence, are widely used in Ayurvedic medicine too.
Spices are used all over the world and spices from each geography has their own distinct essence, flavoring color, and aroma. Classic Indian home-cooked food is often thought to be one of the healthiest foods consumed around the world due to its abundance of spices that add nutritive as well as medicinal value.
Needless to say, the quality of the spice in terms of it origin, seeding and harvesting - including storage and packaging play a vital role to make it a 'truely potent' spice.
